Noelle’s daughter and friend raising money for OH. Katie & John and family picked up litter on the beach. Six volunteers picked up 29 lbs in Ft. Walton Beach and 114 lbs at the regular cleanup at Park West. There was a lot of preserved wood on the sound side beach near the entrance to Ft Pickens. Wood is preserved with copper based chemicals - not the greatest for sea creatures

Apr 22nd Earth Day + One!
The day started with cleanups at Dog Park East and Ft. Walton Beach Landing Park collecting 222 lbs of litter by 32 volunteers. Some of us then moved onto the city’s Earth Day celebration at Bayview Park. OceanHour had a tent. Introduced a new wire sculpture of a dolphin for collecting “squished” aluminum cans.
Out of 87 guesses on how many one use plastic bottle caps, Qiao came within 28 caps of the 1880 in the aquarium!
In the future we should be easy to find with our bright yellow banner.

Across Bayfront Pkwy from Veterans Park is Hawkshaw Lagoon City Park/Nat’l Memorial to Missing Children. Even though the sign is difficult to read driving by, the pier offers a great view of Three Mile Bridge. Unfortunately there is ALOT of trash/litter not only below the bay viewing area but along the spit leading back to Bayfront. OceanHour partially cleaned up around viewing platform - 494 lbs.
